The state Preliminary Land Use Service (PLUS) reviews local comprehensive plans, certain development projects and, in some cases, changes to ordinances. Various state agencies make comments and suggestions; the Office of State Planning Coordination compiles them into a report.
The town of Laurel will submit its comprehensive plan to the state on February 1. The PLUS meeting to discuss the plan will be Wednesday, Feb. 22. While these are public meetings, there is no provision for public comment. No specific time has been set yet.
The plan must follow this checklist of state requirements.
