The Town of Laurel will join other municipalities on Tuesday, August 2 to make its case for why Laurel should be designated a Downtown Development District. The Cabinet Committee on State Planning Issues will hear brief presentations from the towns that also include Clayton, Dagsboro, Georgetown, Harrington, Milford, New Castle, New Castle County, Newark, and Smyrna.
Representing Laurel will be Council President Chris Calio, Town Manager Jamie Smith, Laurel Redevelopment Corporation Executive Director Brian Shannon and Lee Ann Walling, the consultant who prepared the application. Your good wishes and thoughts on this day would be appreciated.
Laurel submitted an extensive application a week before the June 2 deadline. The complete application is available on the website.
